The series between TNT and Petron was a very close and not lacking in drama. Before the start of the conference, many pundits pick TNT to capture the coveted grand slam. Petron came from one of its worst conference in years heading to the Governor's Cup.
After the elimination round and semi-finals, the 2 heavyweights of Philippine basketball meet in the finals. The series was full of ups and downs and the season boiled down to the Game 7. Petron Blazed spoiled the TNT party to end up as the 2011 Governor's Cup Champions. Arwind Santos was votes as the Finals MVP, a deserving consolation for losing the season MVP honors to TNT's Jimmy Alapag.
It was a memorable ending for the 2011 season and the next season will be exciting as new changes are in store for the Philippine's premier professional sports league.
